David Hedrick went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2005, just 8 months after being diagnosed with lung cancer. His wife, Yvonda, has established a memorial fund in David's name through Grobanites for Charity to benefit the Zamimpilo Kids.

Yvonda writes: David was a wonderful man who had a real burden on his heart for the Zamimpilo kids and felt it entirely possible that the next Nelson Mandela could arise from this orphanage. Through the grass roots efforts of Grobanites for Charity and the Josh Groban Foundation, several needs have been met at Zamimpilo Orphanage, but there is still so much to be done. David would be thrilled to know that you donated in his name for the benefit of these children. (And by the way, David wore his H.O.G. (Husband of a Grobanite) designation proudly!)
