1. PLACING A BID
- Click on the “Place a Bid” link at the top
of the auction description which will create an automatically addressed
e-mail for your bid. If the link does not work for you, please use
the e-mail address at the top of the auction page. The bids will
be received at the same time using either process. Fill in the body
of the e-mail with your bid amount and the name to be listed on
the web site (usually your first name and last initial or your board
name). If you prefer to remain anonymous, you must specify this
in your e-mail each time you place a bid. You will not be sent a
delivery confirmation for your bid.

2. TIMING FOR BIDS - Each
bid is based on the time at which it was sent, which is the time
that will be posted on the auction web site. Should more than one
person bid the same amount on an item, the person who sent in their
bid FIRST will be listed as the highest bidder. If you disagree
with the posted highest bidder and you know the bids have been updated,
e-mail the address that is listed for the specified bid item and
explain why you disagree. (Also forward your bid e-mail if possible.)

3. BID UPDATES –
Bids are updated manually
by one person before and after work hours. However, the bids will
be updated more frequently during the last hours of the auction.
Hitting F5 on your keyboard will refresh the page and ensure you’re
seeing the most current update. If you are concerned that your bid
did not go through, please send an e-mail to Meg@GrobanitesForCharity.org.

4. AUCTION START/END TIMES – The auction times will
be posted on the Auction page as Eastern Standard Time.

5. AUCTION RESULTS AND
NOTIFICATION TO THE WINNERS –
The auction results will be double-checked
before they are posted and this may take up to 1 hour. The winning
bidders will be contacted by e-mail within 24 hours after the auction
ends. Each winner will be asked to reply for confirmation purposes
and to provide their full name and address. Should anyone NOT confirm
after a follow-up e-mail within 48 hours, the auction team will
decide whether to award the item to the next highest bidder or enter
it into the next auction. NOTE: IF YOU SEE YOUR NAME LISTED AS A
WINNER AND DO NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL WITHIN 24 HOURS, PLEASE CONTACT
MEG IMMEDIATELY AT Meg@GrobanitesForCharity.org.

using any major credit card or your checking account. To register

A PayPal invoice will be included with your winning confirmation.

7. NON PAYMENTS AND LATE PAYMENTS –
We trust that everyone who bids on an item will live up to
his or her commitment of paying for it afterwards. When people back
out of their commitments, we will deliver less to the charities
than we had originally communicated. Please do everything possible
to deliver your payment promptly. All payments must be received
by an appointed date. If payment is not received by this date, the
Auction Team will decide whether to wait longer for the payment,
offer the item to the next highest bidder or hold the item for a
future auction.

8. DELIVERY - The auction
items will be mailed to the winning bidders as soon as payment is
received for each item. Note that in some cases, the people donating
the items to the auction will be in charge of mailing them out to
the winners.

9. TAX RECEIPTS - Your
check or credit card statement can serve as your tax receipt. For
any payments of $75 or more where the donation exceeds the Fair
Market Value of the item, the winner will receive a tax receipt
from GFC, reflecting both the total amount paid and the fair market
value of the item. For any questions regarding tax receipts, please
send an e-mail to Cindy at Cindy@GrobanitesForCharity.org.

10. SHIPPING COSTS - The
winner will be asked to pay for shipping and insurance costs unless
otherwise noted.
