You can use your own pattern or follow these simple 
instructions:

3/4 yd cotton fabric for pillow case
1/2 yd cotton fabric for the border

Cutting:
Cut fabric for pillow case to measure 42" x 25"
Cut fabric for border to measure 42" x 16"

Sewing: (Use 1/2 inch seam allowance)
1. Fold 42x25 length in half, right sides together. It 
should measure 21" x 25" now.
Stitch one end and side of pillow case with straight 
stitch. Finish with a wide zig zag.
Trim seams and press.

2. Fold border in half, right sides together. Stitch short 
ends together. Press seams open.
Fold this piece in half lengthwise, wrong sides together 
and press.

3. Pin border to pillow case matching seams. Stitch 
together using 1/2" seam
Press seams on border up.
Top stitch on outside of border close to seam, press, 
and it's done!
